Samarkand is a legendary city, its name shrouded in myth and Eastern poetry. Founded over 2,700 years ago, it was one of the main capitals of the Great Silk Road and the cultural center of Tamerlane's vast empire. Here, Persian sophistication, Turkic strength, and Islamic spirituality merged, creating the city's unique appearance.

Samarkand's main attractions are striking in their grandeur: Registan Square with its three madrassas, the Gur-e-Amir mausoleum—Tamerlane's burial vault, the Shah-i-Zinda monastery, and the ancient observatory of Ulugh Beg. The city's architecture seems woven from azure, marble, and tiles, and each dome reflects the rich history and artistic genius of Central Asia.

Samarkand is not just a city, but a symbol of Uzbekistan. It lives in harmony between the past and the present, inviting travelers to discover the spirit of the East, be inspired by its beauty and feel the breath of millennia woven into every stone of its ancient walls.

Saytdagi Buxoro va Samarqand haqidagi maqolalar juda foydali bo'ldi. O'zimizga mos yangi joylarni kashf qildik. Ayniqsa, milliy taomlar va hunarmandchilik ustaxonalari haqidagi tavsiyalar uchun rahmat. GoUzbekistan portali orqali sayohatimiz ancha tartibli va mazmunli o'tdi. Chet ellik mehmonlarimizga ham aynan shu saytni tavsiya qildik!

Our April trip to Bukhara was the highlight of our Silk Road tour. We found the local tips on GoUzbekistan very helpful, especially about the weather and what to wear. The recommendation to visit the Ark Fortress at sunset was spot on – the photos are incredible! The website made it so easy to understand the local culture and find the best hidden gems. Highly recommend using this guide for anyone visiting Uzbekistan in 2026!
